LANDSCAPE DESIGN CONCEPT
Organic free form landscaping shapes a relaxed resort atmosphere with clean lines and massed beds of textured planting on this seafront property. Curved pool forms, sea blue tiling and sand washed aggregate finishes draw the adjacent beach into the light and airy resort, but with security and privacy from the public beach.
From the lobby a ‘pier’ like wood walkway leads to the main swimming pool which is separated from the kid’s pool with a ‘dune’ like berm. A stepped terrace down to the beach uses sand finish to draw in the beach and the gabion stone retaining wall is designed as part of the storm surge prevention system for the property. Where possible the large numbers of existing trees on site were maintained and new trees and palms orientated to frame sea views from each room.
