LANDSCAPE DESIGN CONCEPT
Design of the hotel aimed to capture the atmosphere of historic grand Thai Mansions built along Sathorn Road by wealthy traders and foreigners, many of which still exist, converted to foreign consulates and residences. Originally built as resort like homes in an area which was once an outer suburb they featured an open airy atmosphere with verandas, open lawns studded with palms to emphasise grandeur and lush tropical planting around the buildings. Plants found in traditional Thai gardens were used such as Betal Nut Palms, Heliconias, Gardenia, Gingers and Lady’s Palms.
