The design aimed to capture the atmosphere of historic Thai Mansions built along Sathorn Road by wealthy traders and foreigners, many now gone, some converted to foreign consulates.  Originally built as resort-like homes, the hotel features an open airy atmosphere with verandas, open lawns studded with palms and lush tropical planting.  Plants found in traditional Thai gardens such as Betel Nut Palms, Heliconia, Gardenia, Ginger and Lady’s Palms were used.
